Which Laser247 account recovery are you doing?
Five situations land here. They aren't the same problem, so don't follow the wrong branch.
| Situation | What the desk can do | Start here |
|---|---|---|
| Forgot the ID, still have the number | Look it up from your registered number | Branch 1 below |
| Forgot the password only | Reset it in the chat | Password reset guide |
| Changing number, old SIM still works | Move the account after a message from the old SIM | Branch 2, fast route |
| Number gone, no access to the old SIM | Verify with account details, then move it | Branch 2, slow route |
| Phone stolen or lost | Lock the account, then recover | Branch 3 below |
Branch 1: you forgot the ID
This is the easy one. Your ID is tied to your mobile number, so the number is the key.
- Open the desk's WhatsApp from Official Channels. Not from a search. Not from a forwarded contact.
- Message from the registered number. Say you've lost your ID and give the name you used when it was issued.
- Answer one or two confirmation questions. They're about things already on the account. Never a password, never an OTP.
- Get the ID back in the same chat. Save it somewhere sensible this time. Not on the lock screen.
- Log in and check the password still works. If it doesn't, ask for a reset in the same conversation instead of starting a new one.
Branch 2: your mobile number changed
The number is the proof of ownership, so changing it is the most sensitive thing the desk does. There are two routes and the difference is whether the old SIM still receives messages.
Fast route: the old SIM still works
- Message from the old number first. Say you're moving to a new number and type the new one out in full.
- Message from the new number next. Same chat thread if WhatsApp lets you, otherwise a fresh one referencing the ID.
- Wait for the desk to confirm both sides match. Then the new number becomes the registered one.
- Do not throw the old SIM away until the desk confirms. Yes, people do this. Then they're on the slow route.
Slow route: the old number is gone
Now a message from your new phone proves nothing on its own. The desk asks for details only the account holder would know, and it tells you exactly which ones in the chat. Answer carefully and completely the first time. Half answers restart the process. If the details don't line up, the desk will decline, and the section below explains why that's a feature and not a fault.
Branch 3: phone stolen or lost
Order matters here. Secure first, recover second.
- Block the SIM with your carrier. This stops the thief receiving anything sent to your number, including any chat you have with us.
- Get the same number reissued. Your carrier does this on a new SIM. Once it's active, the registered number is back in your hands.
- Message the desk from that number. Say the phone was stolen and give your ID if you remember it. Ask for a password reset and for every open session to be closed.
- Log in fresh on the new phone. Set a new password on first login. Install the app only from the build the desk shares in the chat. The Laser247 app page explains that route.
- Review the account. If anything looks wrong, say so in the same chat. The desk can look from its side.
Why the desk sometimes says no
A recovery request from a number we don't recognise, with details that don't match, gets declined. That isn't us being difficult. It's the only thing standing between a stranger and your account. The same rule protects you when someone else tries to claim your ID. We never speed this up for a fee, never ask for a password or OTP to "verify faster", and never reply from a second number. If a chat does any of those, it isn't the desk. Check it against Official Channels and read how to spot fake Laser247 sites.
What makes a Laser 247 recovery quicker
You can't skip the checks, but you can stop them dragging.
- Message from the registered number if you have any way to do so. It removes most of the questions.
- Have the ID ready, or the name and rough details you gave when it was issued.
- Say plainly which branch you're in: forgotten ID, new number, or stolen phone.
- Stay in one chat. A second chat from a second number restarts the queue.
- Answer every question in one message rather than five short ones.
When recovery isn't the right answer
If the number is gone and the details can't be matched, the desk can't hand the account over, full stop. At that point the practical option is a Laser247 new ID. Nothing carries over from the old one, which is exactly why the desk pushes recovery first. Ask in the chat which route fits your case. The desk tells you straight.
Once you're back in, spend a few minutes on the Laser247 security checklist so you don't end up here again. If any part of this guide doesn't match what you're seeing, the support page explains what the desk handles and how to reach it.
